This page contains statistics and information for the Guernsey national team in the “big three” team matches contested at Bisley – the Kolapore, the Overseas, and the Mackinnon – and the Inter-insular match against Jersey.

Following the establishment of a rifle association on the island in 1871, out of which the Guernsey Rifle Club was born, the island has been represented on the international stage at the Imperial Meeting since the 1880s.
As of 2024, Guernsey has made some 129 appearances in the longest-running international match, the Rajah of Kolapore, behind only Canada (139) and Great Britain (143).
Guernsey’s greatest team triumph remains its 1898 Kolapore win, but the island has regularly taken the challenge to Great Britain, the home nations, and other overseas competitors for over 150 years.
The island swept up a number of wins in the “junior” matches in the mid-late twentieth century, and in recent years it has achieved “senior” success over other overseas teams, winning the Overseas match in 2009 and 2024 and the Dominion Prize in 2009, 2017, and 2021.
Whilst Guernsey and Jersey have generally preferred to enter team matches separately where possible, the islands have entered a combined Channel Islands team for the twelve-man Mackinnon match on 23 occasions, and typically enter a combined team for the America match, the Palma match, and the European Long-Range Championships.
In 2006, the combined Channel Islands team won the European Long-Range Championships for the first time, captained by Guernsey’s Mike Martel.
